The Parents as Teachers program offered by Ringgold County Public Health is supported entirely with grant money from a number of organizations. Since the program was started in 2000, more than 700 families have been served. The program’s goals are to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, improve parenting practices, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, prevent child abuse and neglect, and improve children’s school readiness and school success.
The Dekko Foundation has pledged to award $1 for each $1 secured for the program from individuals and businesses up to $30,000.
