Exposure to COVID-19 Possible at Mt. Ayr American Legion Event

Anyone who attended the Mt. Ayr American Legion supper on Sunday, September 20, could have been exposed to a lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive case.  Please be monitoring for symptoms and notify your medical provider or be tested if you develop any of the symptoms listed below.

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:
    • Trouble breathing
    • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
    • New confusion
    • Inability to wake or stay awake
    • Bluish lips or face

Please wait 48 hours after exposure to be tested.  The Ringgold County Hospital is offering drive-through testing on Wednesday, September 23, from 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM.  Other hours are available by contacting them at 641-464-4405.  Please click here for more information on the testing.
